Malus sargentii (Sargent Crabapple)
The Sargent Crabapple is one of several hundred varieties of the flowering crabapples. It is a deciduous tree, about 6 - 8 feet high, and 10 - 16 feet in spread. They grow from zones 4 - 8, and prefer well drained acid soils. They have single white flowers, with bright red fruit, which the birds enjoy. They have a densely branching form.
